This month has been a bit dreary what with the weather and low spending budget but I thought i'd share the things that have guided me through to the end. These are my 'of the month' items.
Place of the month: The Waldorf Hilton
This month after asking my mother for years to take me to the Waldorf for afternoon tea the time finally arrived. My parents are members of the hotel and are always heading up there and I felt like I wanted in on this way of living. The hotel is beautiful and their harp player is truly amazing. I had the Hiltons tribute blend tea which by definition is: 'A combination of the sweet and nutty Yunnan tea with a hint of the evocative smokey Lapsang Souchong tea, together creating a heady aroma of bonfires and honey.' Amazing. Food equally as.
Album of the month: Pharrell Williams - GIRL
So this has been my favourite album to listen to for a couple of months. It's has such an easy listening vibe to it and I love Pharell, from Everybody Nose in his old albums to Brand New in this one, he never ceases to amaze me as a person.
Book of the month: Jodi Picoult - The Colour War
Jodi Picoult has been releasing short stories which hint at her upcoming books this Winter and this was one of them. After reading 'Where There's Smoke' which is another of her short stories I was hooked on these type of books. I wanted something easy and light to read and found her other book 'The Colour War' and it was calculated to be read in 41 minutes on my Kindle. Amazing. A stunning story about a coloured boy in this era and some of the problems he faces, there's a moral to the story and the end is so capturing. If you have a spare hour to use then get this book, it was around £1-£2 when I purchased it out of the Kindle store.
